Introduction to Handgun-Mounted Optics • CLEET CE • 2 Hours This virtual CE class is available by individual appointment or as a scheduled class. This course is recommended as a prerequisite to the RedDot Transition Live Fire Course. This course provides foundational instruction on the operation and use of handgun-mounted optics on semiautomatic pistols. Students are introduced to common types of handgun-mounted red dot sights and their application on duty and off-duty handguns. Instruction covers basic optic function, presentation considerations, dot acquisition, zero concepts, offset awareness, and common user errors. Classroom instruction is paired with structured live-fire exercises to reinforce safe handling, proper operation, and realistic performance expectations. This course is intended as an orientation and familiarization block and does not assume prior experience with handgun-mounted optics.
